Member Service Representative (MSR)

Summary

Our organization services over 180 credit union clients. As a Member Service Representative you will be responding to member inquiries received by providing quality service while identifying the financial needs for our members including making loan payments, transferring funds and taking loan applications, as well as a multitude of other institutional services. This position is available in both the Southgate, MI and the Auburn Hills, MI locations.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answer daily 80 to 100 inbound service calls to assist credit union members with personal financial information.
  • A liaison that handles various financial account transactions for both commercial and personal members in a call center.
  • Address member inquiries via Teller Net and CUScripter, and referring unresolved customer inquiries to credit unions for further investigation.
  • Provide professional personalized member service in a pleasant and friendly manner to all credit union members.
  • Manage challenging situations by responding promptly and appropriately to the needs of the member.
  • Maintain or exceed established monthly quality and production scores.
  • Assist members with the completion of loan applications (where applicable).

 

Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot and analyze problems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Possess above average reading comprehension skills
  • Ability to type a minimum 35 wpm that are grammatically correct without spelling errors
  • Good computer and navigation skills including word and the internet.
  • Good time management and organizational skills

 

Preferences

  • Six months to 1 year call center, banking or credit union experience
  • Bilingual Spanish speaking (premium pay)
  • 1 year experience in consumer lending
  • 1 year experience in soft sales
  • 1 year experience in web chats and email support

 

Physical Demand

Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform successfully the essential functions of this job. Working on computer, sitting for lengthy periods, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
